I just saw an ad for a new mail order product called ListenClear. Three things immediately struck me about the ad. They avoid conflict with the FDA by not calling it a hearing aid. Another is that they say this product will work well without the involvement of an audiologist. Good luck with that. If you need prescription glasses, would you get them without seeing an optometrist? The third is that “ListenClear offers several listening options to allow people to find their preferred listening setting…” If my recollection is correct, one of the major hearing aid manufacturers designed a product like this about 1998. The audiologist could select one of five different hearing aid settings, depending on the hearing loss configuration of the patient. They discontinued it after a couple of years. When you visit Ears to You, we won’t re-invent the wheel. We’ll use the best procedures, backed by years of scientific research, to fit you with the best hearing technology on the planet.
