What to expect
I’ll ask about your hearing history and check your ears for any signs of a medical problem. We’ll do a hearing evaluation if your last one is more than a year old or if you’ve never had one. The information provided by a recent hearing evaluation is a fundamental part of good hearing care. I’ll explain the results and answer your questions. It would be helpful to have a family member or close friend at hand. The perspective provided by such a person can be quite valuable.
If you decide to pursue better hearing after we discuss your results, we’ll do a Communication Needs Assessment that involves other tests and a questionnaire. This process allows us to develop an understanding of your specific hearing needs and goals. Then we’ll have enough information to select the most appropriate technology for you. We’ll come back to these goals at a later date to evaluate the level of our success.
